Travelers in New York State will be getting a break this holiday weekend.

Governor Andrew Cuomo has directed the State Department of Transportation to suspend all non-emergency construction that would result in lane closures or traffic delays over the Labor Day weekend

The Governor's action is part of the state's "Drivers First" initiative launched in 2012.

The suspension of construction will be in effect until Tuesday, September 2nd at 6:00 a.m.
