SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) — Police say two people are in custody after a car crashed on a Syracuse street following a reported shootout on the city's south side.

Authorities say reports of shots fired on Furman Street were received by police around 11:50 p.m. Monday, with a witness saying two vehicles fled the scene at a high speed.

Police say another report of shots fired was received a short time later, followed by a car crash on Martin Luther King East. When officers arrived, they found two people inside a car that had crashed into a concrete barrier.

Both were taken into custody and are being questioned by investigators Tuesday morning.

There are no reports of injuries.
