MACOMB, N.Y. (AP) — State police have released the name of a suburban Rochester man who was killed in a snowmobiling accident on a lake in northern New York last weekend.

Troopers say 38-year-old Gregory Barr, of Pittsford, was driving a snowmobile on Black Lake when he hit a large rock pile and was thrown from his vehicle. Emergency crews brought him to the hospital in nearby Ogdensburg, where he was pronounced dead.

Police say the accident occurred around 5:30 p.m. Saturday in the St. Lawrence County town of Macomb, near the Canadian border.

Troopers say their investigation is continuing.
