Councilman Wants To Rename Utica Zoo Road

A Utica Councilman wants to rename a portion of Steele Hill Road that runs through the Utica Zoo.

Councilman Joe Marino is sponsoring legislation to change the name of the road starting at Pleasant Street to Utica Zoo Way.

Marino says the zoo's current address of 99 Steele Hill Road makes it difficult for tourists or a delivery person to find the location on Google or a GPS system.

“My family and I cherish the world class zoo we have here in Utica and I am incredibly proud to be able to give back to them a fraction of what they have done for the City of Utica” Marino said.
