Having most recently served as Commissioner of the New York Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD), Courtney Burke has been named New York's new Deputy Secretary for Health by Governor Andrew Cuomo.

Burke, who previously served as the director of the Rockefeller Institute's New York State Health Policy Research Center, replaces James Introne, who retired from the position.

Stepping in for Burke is expected to be Laurie Kelley, who will serve as Acting Commissioner of OPWDD pending confirmation by the legislature.

Dr. Ann Sullivan will serve as Acting Commissioner of the Office of Mental Health.

If confirmed, both Kelley and Sullivan will assume their positions in November 2013.
