Courts Reject Personhood Claims of Nonhuman Rights Project
The courts have now rejected the last of the three lawsuits brought by the Nonhuman Rights Project requesting personhood rights for chimpanzees.
The third ruling was handed down on Monday, December 9, 2013. The courts have now rejected the suits, refusing to convey the rights of personhood on chimpanzees.
The group has yet to respond on its website and there is no word yet on its members plan to pursue additional suits in other states.
