Governor Andrew Cuomo announced today that the newly formed New York State Tax Relief Commission will find ways to reduce the tax burdens of New York's homeowners and businesses.

Cuomo's office says the formation of the Tax Relief Commission is the result of three years of responsible budgeting, including holding the line on spending, a smaller state workforce and reducing pension costs.

This puts the state in a position to examine new ways to cut taxes for New Yorkers and encourage job creation.
