New York, NY (WIBX) - Governor Andrew Cuomo calls on New Yorkers to help upstate residents hit hard By Hurricane Irene.  The governor launched his Labor For Your Neighbor campaign, which urges New Yorkers to take a few hours this holiday weekend to help clean up the flooded out communities of upstate New York.

The effort is taking place on Sunday and Monday in the Schoharie Valley, the Catskills, and the north country.  Officials say volunteers who sign up on the Governor's website will be brought to locations from staging areas, organized by the National Guard and State Office of Emergency Management. Walmart and Home Depot are reportedly supplies. Those who aren't able to assist in the clean-up effort by volunteering, can donate money to Irene victims through the United Way of New York.
