Governor Andrew Cuomo is applauding the decision by Dick's Sporting Goods to stop selling assault-style rifles.

Cuomo says the company, which was founded in Binghamton, is taking a principled stand and setting an example of responsible corporate leadership for businesses across the nation.

The governor is also commending Dick's for their leadership in taking smart measures to keep weapons out of the wrong hands.

Dick's also says it will no longer sell high-capacity magazines and it won't sell any type of gun to anyone younger than 21.
