Governor Andrew Cuomo says investigators are following every lead in an effort to find a pair of escaped killers.

Appearing at a news conference Wednesday with the governor of Vermont, Cuomo called it a top priority to find the two inmates.

He said the two states are closely coordinating efforts based on information that the men had discussed heading to Vermont to avoid capture.

State Police Superintendent Joseph D'Amico said more than 450 law enforcement officers are working the case.  The manhunt is primarily focused on an area near the Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora and the town of Willsboro about 40 miles southeast of the prison.

Convicted murderers Richard Matt and David Sweat have been on the run since their weekend escape from the maximum security prison about 20 miles south of the Canadian border.  Investigators are going door-to-door checking homes in the area and following up on more than 500 leads in the case.

A $100,000 reward is being offered for their arrest.
