Cuomo Says State Will Extend Fracking Review

Albany, NY (WIBX) - Governor Andrew Cuomo says state officials will apply for an extension to review possible regulations for hydrofracking.  

Cuomo said the Department of Environmental Conservation has been directed to apply for a new 90-day extension to complete the regulatory review of the controversial drilling process.

The deadline had been tomorrow, but Cuomo had previously said the state wouldn't be able to make the deadline due to issues connected to Hurricane Sandy.
