Governor Andrew Cuomo plans to deliver his annual State of the State message on tour this year.

The governor's office has announced that he'll make a series of regional messages, speaking directly to communities across New York. A news release from the state say he'll be discussing ''regional initiatives and groundbreaking proposals he will advance in 2017. The Governor looks forward to articulating his vision for a stronger, brighter New York in the weeks ahead.''

Typically, the governor's speech is made in Albany to an audience primarily comprised of state lawmakers.

Specifics times and locations of the January 9, 2017 address aren't known yet, but reports say Cuomo will make appearances in New York City, the Capitol Region, Western New York, Long Island, the Hudson Valley and Central New York.
