Following a national search, Museum of Art Director and Chief Curator Anna D'Ambrosio has been named President and CEO, effective in early August.

She'll take over for Anthony Spiridigloizzi, who announced his retirement earlier this year.

“I want to thank the Board of Trustees for this opportunity. It has been a great honor to serve MWPAI and this community for the last 27 years,” D’Ambrosio said.  “I look forward to leading the dynamic and dedicated staff and to making MWPAI an even stronger cultural asset for the Mohawk Valley and beyond.”

D'Ambrosio joined the MWPAI staff in 1989 as curator of decorative arts and was appointed Director of the Museum of Art in 2012.

She's a nationally recognized scholar in 19th-century decorative arts.
