Yu Darvish improved to 3-0 with a stellar 8 1/3 innings of seven hit-ball, while striking out ten, as the Texas Rangers blanked the Yankees 2-0 on Tuesday at Rangers Ballpark.

Ian Kinsler's first inning lead off home run was all the offense Texas(14-4) needed. Josh Hamilton's RBI-single in the third provided the insurance.

Both runs came off Yankees' starter Hiroki Kiroda who dropped to 1-3 on the season. Kiroda's line wasn't bad - 6 2/3 innings, two runs, five hits and five K's - but Darvish kept the Yankee offense subdued as New York falls to 10-7 on the year.

Derek Jeter raised his after to .416 with two more hits, while Robinson Cano had a pair of hits as well.

Nick Swisher's one out single in the night pushed Darvish from the game, when Joe Nathan came in to finish it for his fifth save.

Phil Hughes (1-2) matches up with Scott Feldman (0-0) for the rubber game on Wednesday night.

*Tuesday night marked the seventh time in MLB history that two Japanese-born pitchers started in the same game.
