This past weekend's International Boxing Hall of Fame weekend always brings some of the biggest names in the fight game to Canastota, NY for an array of festivities including the annual fist casting, induction ceremonies and the Parade of Champions.

Among this year's inductees was The Golden Boy, Oscar De La Hoya whose trip to central New York was about more than handshakes, photos ops and autographs. De La Hoya, whose fantastic career included ten championships in a half-dozen weight divisions, made a stop on Friday to Oneida Healthcare's Extended Care Facility were took some time to visit with area residents who didn't have a chance to make it out to the three-day boxing gala.

By chance, I ran into a childhood friend of De La Hoya's - Jorge Calvillo - who was traveling alongside the former champ while he visited the extended care facility. He shared these photos of De La Hoya sharing his infectious smile with some of the residents:
