The State Department of Environmental Conservation is announcing a two week licensing blackout period.
Starting Thursday December 26, the DEC will begin a transition to a new computer system in an effort to consolidate licensing systems in New York State.

During the two week blackout, the public will not be able to buy sporting licenses for hunting, fishing, or trapping.

Hunters will also not be able to report harvested game but will be given a seven day grace period to report any harvests once the new system is up and running.
