Utica Democrat Dave Gordon says he's in.

After forming an exploratory committee earlier this month, Gordon has become the second candidate to officially announce his plans to run for New York's 22nd Congressional District, a post currently held by Richard Hanna who plans to retire in 2016.

Republican Claudia Tenney is the other announced candidate.

Gordon is a local business owner and one-time Oneida County Legislator. He lost his bid to return to the county board this past November.

State Senator Joe Griffo and State Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi say they are considering a run. Other possible candidates include former Oneida County Executive and State Senator Ray Meier, Syracuse University Professor Catherine Bertini and Oswego County Clerk Michael Backus.

LISTEN: Gordon recently appeared on WIBX First News with Keeler in the Morning. After calling out gay legislators who support same-sex marriage but are 'in the closet', host Bill Keeler accuses Gordon of being uninformed on national issues.
