The National Weather Service is warning commuters of dense fog in Central New York.A warning issued by the NWS reads as follows:

"DENSE FOG WILL CONTINUE TO COVER A LARGE PART OF THE FINGER LAKES REGION TO THE SYRACUSE, UTICA AND ROME AREAS OF THE UPPER MOHAWK VALLEY THIS MORNING. VISIBILITIES WILL BE NEAR ZERO IN MANY PLACES. EXPECT THE FOG TO LIFT BETWEEN 10 AM AND 11 AM.

MOTORISTS ARE URGED TO ALLOW EXTRA TIME TO REACH YOUR DESTINATION THIS MORNING. USE YOUR LOW BEAMS AND KEEP PLENTY OF DISTANCE BETWEEN YOU AND THE VEHICLE AHEAD OF YOU."

Drivers are being advised to use extra caution, allowing extra time for travel, and extended space between cars.
