A teenager who reportedly tried to jump out of a moving vehicle on Route 49 in Floyd over the weekend was seriously injured when the vehicle crashed.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office says 19-year-old Preston Lynch of Middleville attempted to jump out of the moving car in the early morning hours on Sunday. Deputies say the 18-year-old driver reacted, taking both hands off the wheel to pull Lynch back into the car. She lost control, hit a guard rail and Lynch was then ejected, deputies said.

The driver and her backseat passengers were not injured.

The accident temporarily closed the eastbound land of Route 49.
