Madison County Sheriff Allen Riley is crediting one of his deputies with saving the life of a suspected heroin overdose victim.

The deputy responded to a report of a possible overdose in the Town of Madison on Sunday evening

He arrived before emergency personnel and administered two vials of Naloxone to the victim.

The victim was taken to the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.

Riley says the Sheriff's Office was able to acquire Naloxone and provide training through funds received from the Attorney General's Office.
