He's heard the rumors about Northern New Jersey getting a baseball team when Major League Baseball expands; but, Commissioner Robert Manfred says, "the words 'New Jersey' never came out of my mouth."

"Expansion in baseball is more appropriate in markets where we currently do not play," he added, citing the fact that baseball has such a strong presence in that region with the Yankees, Mets, Phillies, Red Sox and Nationals.

Manfred is in Cooperstown for the Baseball Hall of Fame's Induction ceremony on Sunday.  Craig Biggio, Randy Johnson, Pedro Martinez and John Smoltz make up the class of 2015 as voted on by the Baseball Writers Association.  Bobby Cox, Tony La Russa, Joe Torre will be inducted as managers, as well.
