Utica, NY (WIBX) - Assemblywoman RoAnn Destito has been appointed to a volunteer position on Governor-Elect Andrew Cuomo's transition team. Destito will serve on the State and Local Government Reform Committee during the new administration transition process. Destito said she looks forward to assist the new governor on how to best reform state and local government in an effort to serve the people of the State effectively.She said, “In the past, I have held public hearings and roundtable discussions on various ways in which we can restructure our government so that we maximize the use of taxpayers’ dollars while right sizing the overall structure so that the people’s business is conducting efficiently in a transparent way that is accountable to those we are elected to serve.” The newly re-elected assemblywoman also serves as, Chair of the Assembly Committee on Governmental Operations. Other local officials serving on Cuomo's transition team include Onondaga County Executive Joanie Mahoney and Broome County Executive Barbara Fiala.
