Albany, NY (WIBX) - The state Senate has unanimously confirmed Assemblywoman RoAnn Destito as the new Commissioner of the Office of General Services.

Governor Cuomo says Destito will play a crucial role in modernizing state operations and elping restore performance to state government.

Cuomo will schedule a special election to fill Destito's seat.

Republican Greg Johnson and Democrat Anthony Brindisi will face off in that election.

Destito has represented the 116th Assembly District since 1992.
