ESPN's Dick Vitale was in Syracuse on Friday to call the Syracuse-North Carolina game and his appearance at the mall caused a bit of commotion.

Social Media was on fire with people posting comments and photos with the legendary hoops color commentator.

Vitale didn't miss a beat, posting photos with fans on his Twitter page.

Dick Vitale Instagram Page reported that at one point during his visit for lunch at the food court, an employee of a cell phone business had Vitale paged and asked him to come to his store.  Vitale never showed up.

Syracuse pounced on North Carolina on Saturday beating the new ACC rival 57-45.  The Orange will play Boston College on Monday at 9 p.m..

During Saturday's game, Vitale praised Jim Boeheim and said the University should build a monument in honor of the NCAA's 2nd-most-winningest coach and it should be erected before he retires so he can enjoy the moment.

He later posted the same comment on his Twitter page.
