R.A. Dickey improved to 7-1, striking out ten Padres in 7 1/3 innings of three-hit ball as the Mets topped San Diego 2-0 on Sunday afternoon at Citi Field.

It moves Dickey into a tie atop the National League in wins, and moved the Mets to best their mark of the season (27-21), bouncing back to take three straight from the Padres after an ugly 11-5 loss to the Padres on Thursday night.

Frank Francisco worked quickly in the ninth on Sunday for his 13th save, capping a stretch of 26 consecutive scoreless innings for Met pitching.

Both New York runs came off Padres starter Edinson Volquez (2-5) - Daniel Murphy's two-out RBI single in the first, and catcher Nick Hundley's pass ball in the fifth that allowed Mike Baxter to score.

The Mets continue their season long 11-game home stand with three games against Philadelphia, beginning with a 1:10 Memorial Day matinee on Monday.
