R.A. Dickey (6-1) struck out 11 Pirates, a career high, while allowing just five hits and a run over seven innings as the Mets picked up a 3-2 win in Pittsburgh on Tuesday night.

Lucas Duda's RBI single off the glove of first baseman Garrett Jones put New York up 2-1 in the eight before third baseman Pedro Alvarez's error that allowed an important insurance run to score.

That extra run proved to be the difference as setup-man Jon Rauch gave up an RBI-single in the bottom half of the inning to Andrew McCutchen, who drove in both Pirate runs.

Frank Francisco worked a perfect ninth for his 11th save.

The Mets (23-20) wrap up their games series in Pittsburgh on Wednesday afternoon at 12:35.
