If you're a fan of the iconic time travel movies 'Back to the Future 1,2 & 3,' then you know how the major plot of the second movie centers around a fictional sports almanac (Gray's Sports Almanac) that is taken from the year 2015 to 1955 to make the movie's bad guy Biff Tannon a millionaire.

The reason the movie's hero Marty McFly got the idea to buy the famed almanac in the first place is seeing a banner announcing the winner of the 2015 World Series as the Chicago Cubs(see clip below).

But did the movie possibly predict the future?

In the last few months leading up to today, the Cubs have made some significant free agent moves including signing manager Joe Maddon, and today announcing the signing of coveted free agent pitcher John Lester.

If all goes right for the Cubbies they could potentially make a solid run in the postseason in 2015. In fact, Las Vegas odds makers have even moved the Cubs chances of winning the World Series up from 40-1 to 12-1.

Does Vegas know something we don't, or are they fans of 'Back to the Future' movies too?

The Cubs haven't won a World Series since 1908, but if Hollywood is right this could be their year.

Time will tell.
