DiNapoli Stops $21.2 Million In Dubious Tax Refunds
Tax deadline day has come and gone and State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli has stopped $21.2 million in questionable personal income tax refunds.
He says his office found more than 6,300 improper filings so far this year, but has approved nearly four million refund requests.
Another 271,000 refunds are expected to be paid in the coming days.
DiNapoli says his office will continue to block those who try to cheat the system with inflated expenses or hidden income.
