Albany, NY (WIBX) - State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli says he'll take another look at the New York Racing Association books to determine if NYRA has followed recommendations to remain solvent.

The review will examine NYRA's response to two earlier Comptroller audits, which called for significant cost reductions, including salaries and consultant fees.

NYRA reported a 17-million dollar operating loss last year and projectes an 11-million dollar loss this year.

DiNapoli says NYRA has a history of overspending and he wants to ensure it's one tradition that doesn't continue.
