Albany, NY (WIBX) - State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli says his office will audit the upcoming New York State Fair's electronic ticketing program to ensure reliable reporting of Midway ticket sales.DiNapoli says a team of auditors will be on site at the State Fair in Syracuse to observe, test and verify the new electronic method and determine whether ticket sales are accurately reported.

DiNapoli say with a million visitors coming through the gates, he wants to make sure the Midway ticketing method is viable.

The new pilot program  uses electronic wristbands and bar coded cards instead of paper tickets for Midway and Kiddlieland rides.

The State Fair runs from August 25th through September 5th.
