Utica's Screeming Eagles were a staple in the city in the 1960's.

Greater Utica Magazine is back with another piece of Utica History.

The video below is dedicated to the late Joe Byrd, who led the team for years and is remembered very fondly in the Utica community.

The Screeming Eagles were so popular that at one time they were even asked to perform in the Macy's Parade in New York City, the Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington D.C., and won nearly every competition they entered.

That includes multiple State and National competition 1st place wins.

Do you remember seeing the Screeming Eagles perform in Utica or anywhere else?
