A new survey finds that most Americans are shortchanging themselves when it comes to their retirement.

According to the Federal Reserve's 2014 Survey of Household Economics and Decisionmaking poll almost forty percent of respondents say that they expect to stay on the job past the age of eligible retirement.

More than half of those earning less than $40K annually say that they plan to keep working as long as possible and never retire.
