Utica, NY (WIBX) - A nearly two-and-a-half year investigation by State Police and the State Attorney General's Office Medicaid Fraud Control Unit has led to the arrest of a doctor from Oneida.

38-year old Joel Caldwell was charged with two counts of grand larceny.

Police say Caldwell stole over $14,000 from fradulent billings he submitted to Medicaid and more tha $43,000 from fradulent billings submitted to Medicare.

Caldwell is a Psychologist who visited healthcare facilites in Oneida, Madison and Onondoga Counties.

The alleged overbillings occured from August 2005 to November of last year.
