Does the state owe you money?

Members of State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli's staff will be at the Boilermaker Expo at Mohawk Valley Community College this weekend to help residents search for lost and forgotten money.

DiNapoli says Oneida County residents are owed $20 million in unclaimed funds.  Unclaimed funds come from old bank accounts, utility deposits, uncashed checks and other sources that have been dormant for a number of years.

If you can't make it to the Expo, you can search for unclaimed funds on the Comptroller's Office website.

$230 million has been returned to New York state residents so far this year.
