Domestic Violence Incident Led To Arrest Of Oneida Man

Utica, NY (WIBX) - A domestic dispute incident led to the arrest of an Oneida man on two outstanding arrest warrants. Officials say, 32-year-old Wade Berry is facing 1st degree felony Criminal Contempt and Criminal Obstruction of Breathing charges, (class A misdemeanor- under the new strangulation law) for an incident that occurred on April 24th.

Berry stands accused of violating an order of protection after allegedly arguing with his estranged wife for refusing to drop the protection order against him. Officials say Berry attacked and choked the victim to the point where she could not breathe. They say he also pushed her against the side of her home. The suspect will answer the charges at a later date in family court.
