The Stanley Theater for Performing Arts in Utica will be saving over $11,000 a year on lighting costs, thanks in part to a $2,000 grant from the Senator James H. Donovan Memorial Fund.

Lighting inside the theater, the Romano Room and the vestibule has been replaced with high efficiency LED lighting as part of the Stanley's ongoing energy efficiency program involving  a National Grid rebate program administered by Green Ignite of Yorkville.

The grant from the Donovan Fund helped secure the project's overall funding.

This project follows a similar LED upgrade of lobby and dressing room lighting made last year.

That project was made possible by gifts made in honor of past Stanley Board President Donna Donovan on the occasion of her retirement as Publisher of the Observer Dispatch.
