Utica Police are still gathering evidence from the Key Bank on Genesee Street following a robbery earlier this afternoon.

"A call came in about 2:50 p.m. from the Key Bank at 255 Genesee Street," Utica Police Chief Mark WIlliams said. "It was reported that a white male went up to one of the tellers wearing a black sweatshirt, black knit cap, blue jeans and sneakers. He indicated that he had a weapon, but didn't display one."

The suspect, who is estimated to be in his late 20s or early 30s, was given an undisclosed amount of money from the teller and ran out of the building, heading west towards Court Street.

"No one was hurt, thank God," Williams said. "Right now, when I had left the bank we had our Forensic Unit at the bank, trying to cultivate any evidence that may have been left at the scene."

Anyone with information is urged to call the Utica Police Department at (315) 223-2510.
