DPW Crews Prepare To Demolish Manny’s Cheesecake Bakery

Utica, NY (WIBX) - It's been about 5 months since an early morning fire destroyed Manny's Cheesecake Bakery on the corner of Oneida and Pleasant Streets in Utica. This morning, Department of Public Work crews were on the scene preparing to begin the demolition work. The crew is bringing in heavy equipment to start the project on Monday, (1/23/12). City of Utica Mayor Rob Palmieri says clean-up could cost the city tens-of-thousands of dollars because of the possibility of asbestos being at the site.
