Driver Injured After His Tractor Trailer Overturns

A Holland Patent man has been injured after his tractor trailer overturned in Rome.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office reports that 49-Year-Old Roger Roache was traveling south on Route 26 when he attempted to turn right onto the Lawrence Street off ramp.

Roache lost control of the truck and struck the center median which caused the truck and trailer to turn on its side. Roache was treated at Rome Hospital for apparent rib injuries and was issued a traffic summons for failure to keep right. He will appear in Rome City Court at a later date.

The accident caused the exit ramp to be closed for several hours while the tractor trailer was removed.
