Rome, NY (WIBX) - A Rome man suffered injuries to his hand, after his vehicle struck a deer on Route 365.

According to Oneida County Sheriff Rob Maciol, Justin Sturtevant, 25, was traveling near Henderberg Road just before 7:45 this morning when a deer struck his front fender and driver's side window.

Sturtevant suffered cuts to his left hand from shattered glass and was treated at the scene by the Rome Fire Department.

He was later taken to Rome Memorial Hospital for treatment.
