Driver Allegedly Wakes Up in Ditch New Year’s Day, Arrested by Police
Waking up in a ditch is not the most ideal way to start the New Year. But that is how one driver may have decided to ring in 2015.
New York State Police say they found a vehicle stuck in a ditch off of Mill Street in Aurora, New York in the early hours of New Year's Day. The driver was identified as 37-year old Joel Miles of South Wales.
Miles was arrested after a test at the State Police Barracks in Boston, New York indicated that his blood alcohol content was allegedly .13%.
In addition to a DWI charge, Miles was ticketed for:
- aggravated unlicensed operation
- speeding
- unsafe lane change
He was released to a licensed driver and scheduled to appear in court on January 21, 2015.
