Driverless Car Ends Up In Pond

One person was injured in a car accident that resulted in a car becoming submerged in a retention pond.

It happened yesterday at The Orchard Plaza near the Marquee Cinemas.

New Hartford police say Mary Carden, 92, of Whitesboro was trying to park her car when she accidentally sped up towards a small pond.

Two witnesses pulled Carden from her car before it went into the pond but not before the driver's side door hit a tree and struck Carden in the leg.

She was brought to a local hospital where she was treated for a possible leg fracture.
