Drivers Seeing Higher Gas Prices For Labor Day Weekend

AAA is predicting this weekend will be the most expensive Labor Day in the last four years to fill your gas tank.

Ed Welsh, Regional General Manager for AAA Northeast, says the average price in New York state is $2.98 a gallon, which is about 30 cents a gallon higher than last year.

Welsh says some relief at the pumps is on the way.

He says AAA is predicting gas prices to fall between 20 and 30 cents a gallon over the next few weeks into October.

The average price in the Utica-Rome area is $2.94 a gallon.
