Duda, Santana Lift Mets To Another Shutout Of Baltimore
Johan Santana pitched six shutout innings and Lucas Duda tagged a two-run homer as the Mets blanked the Orioles again, winning 5-0 in each of the first two games of the series.
Santana (5-3) struck out five over six innings of four-hit ball and walked two.
Duda's homer in the sixth off of Tommy Hunter put New York ahead 3-0, giving the Met right fielder 11 homer runs and 42 RBI's on the season, both team bests.
Hunter (3-4) allowed five runs on seven hits over 6 1/3 innings.
Jordany Valdespin had two hits on the night including a two-out, two-RBI single in the eighth.
Bobby Parnell, Miguel Batista and Jon Rauch each threw a scoreless inning and combined to allow just one hit.
