Police agencies in Oneida County will be participating in a special enforcement effort to crackdown on drunk drivers throughout the Memorial Day holiday.

It begins today and runs until Tuesday.

The Utica, Rome, Whitesboro, Whitestown and New York Mills Police Departments, along with the Sheriff's Office and State Police, will be taking part in the initiative.

The County's STOP DWI Program received a $25,000 state grant to operate this and other selective crackdowns through September.
