Elected officials are reacting to today's Nano Utica announcement

Congressman Richard Hanna:

“Today’s announcement is tremendous news for the Mohawk Valley. After years of delays, we’re thrilled to see this multibillion dollar investment and the promise of thousands of jobs.  “Congratulations to Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente for his unrelenting leadership on this project. I thank Governor Cuomo for his support, and I am pleased to see General Electric coming home to Utica.”

Senator Charles Schumer:

“Today is a joyful day in Mohawk Valley and further cements upstate New York as a world leader in nanotechnology research and development. The jobs and opportunity this announcement will bring will impact the area for years to come,” said Schumer. This is why I worked so hard to secure a permit from the federal government so that SUNY Poly could finally break ground in Marcy.”

Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi:

“I am thrilled to welcome the next phase of the Nano Utica initiative.  This is another massive step forward for our community—one that builds on the progress we have already seen and brings more than a thousand additional jobs to the region.  Governor Cuomo has zeroed in on the needs of communities like Utica for going on five years now—and this is another tremendous example of what we can accomplish with his support and our collective potential.”
