One of The View's familiar faces will not be coming back to ABC, apparently due to market research indicating her views are 'too extreme', according to a report is Us Weekly.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck, who is clearly a conservative voice on the program was told recently that her contract would not be renewed, according to the report:

"The viewers they polled all said she was too extreme and right wing," the insider tells Us. "People did not watch the show because of Elisabeth. So they told her yesterday her contract would not be renewed."

When reached for comment, a rep for the show told Us in a statement: "Elisabeth Hasselbeck is a valued member of The View and has a long term contract."

However, Barbara Walters is disputing those reports in an ABC news blog:

“There are no plans for Elisabeth to leave this show,” Walters said, addressing rumors that the show’s co-hosts had forced her out because of her conservative views. “The truth is we like her … and beyond that, we value and appreciate her point of view.”
