Additional Information

When 2 year-old Anjali Khatri was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, her mother, Janine Roberts, was unprepared for the fight ahead. Eight months later, Anjali lost her battle with cancer and Janine was lost in a new world that was foreign to her. In that moment, she knew she must help other children and families fighting kid's cancer. Anjali's Army was formed.

"The goal of Anjali's Army is two-fold." Janine explains, "Our priority is to provide funding for research, but we are also here to guide and support families currently armed and fighting for their child's life." Since the first Anjali's Tea Party, more than $20,000 was raised and donated to a national organization for kids cancer research.

This year, all money raised will stay within the local community and directed to a fund set up by The Montgomery Experience. "When I began researching support in my own backyard, I was shocked to see there is nothing specifically for kid's cancer support, that's when I found Mark Montgomery. We have similar missions and will form a great partnership."

Anjali's Tea Party is a family-oriented event that will have plenty of entertainment for the entire family, including: a performances by The Leatherstocking Ballet; Mike Sales and Eric Sarner from Simpleprops; local Jazz Musician Al Sherline; The KEYS Program; local author Debra Ortiz; and DJ Serena Eberly.

Special Guest of Honor, Theoryn Dygert, a cancer survivor at just 7 years old will tell his own story of triumph and why we need to find a cure.
