Additional Information

The Drowsy Chaperone (music and lyrics by Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison, book by Bob Martin and Don McKellar) pays tribute to the Jazz-age shows of the 1920's and the power those shows held to transport us into a dazzling fantasy and to lift our spirits in times of sadness. The show features a play-within-a-play crammed full of every cliché, gag and gimmick from the golden age of musicals, including a happy ending. Patrick St. Thomas directs this Tony Award-winning musical in a new and exciting production at Rome Community Theater October 8-11 and 16-18. Open auditions will be held on Sunday August 16 and Monday August 17 at 7:30 at the theater (8911 Turin Road, Route 26 North).

The cast calls for 9 Men, 5 Women and a small supporting ensemble, ages 14 and up, dancers welcome. Visit http://www.mtishows.com/show_detail.asp?showid=000333 for character descriptions and show synopsis. No prepared material is required to audition; please bring list of conflicts for scheduling purposes, and those under age 18 should have a parent or guardian available. Technical and orchestra personnel are encouraged to attend one of the audition nights.
