On August 7th the CNY Chapter 490 Military Order of the Purple Heart of the USA will host the U.S. Army Fort Drum 10th Mountain Division Concert Band for free concert to honor the Men and Women of all wars.

The 35 member U.S. Army Fort Drum 10th Mountain Division Concert Band will perform starting at 6:45pm following a 6:00pm ceremony honoring the 12 Oneida County Fallen Soldiers and families that made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country in the military. The ceremony and band concert will be held along side Utica’s Purple Heart Memorial Park located at the corners of Whitesboro and Erie Streets in Utica, NY. Concertgoers are asked to bring their chairs for seating.

From August 6th- 8th, a 3-day display of *6,741 American Flags representing the number of American men and women who lost their lives in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars and honoring all veterans of all of America’s wars will fill Utica’s Purple Heart Memorial Park.
